| 1,2-dibromo-4,5-bis(docosyloxy)benzene Usage And Synthesis |
Synthesis | To a suspension of dry KCO3 (41.0 mmol, 5.66 g,2.2 eq.) in dry DMF distilled over CaH(200 mL) was added 4,5-dibromocatechol (18.7 mmol£?5.00 g, 1 eq.). The mixture was stirred at 40?? for 15 minutes before addition of docosyl bromide (37.5mmol,14.6 g, 2 eq.). The reaction mixture was then stirred at 75 C during 60 h. Thecooled reaction mixture was filtered a 4 C and washed with cold DMF (150 mL). Thesolids were extracted from water with DCM (500 mL). The organic layer andundissolved solids were cooled at 4 C and filtered. The obtained 1,2-dibromo-4,5-bis(docosyloxy)benzene was washed with diethyl ether (200 mL) affording a beigesolid (13.6 g,82%).
