It weakly crossreacts with mouse SIT. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | SIT1 (Signaling threshold-regulating transmembrane adapter-1) inhibits T-cell receptor signaling and T-cell receptor-mediated phosphorylation of AKT (RAC-γ serine/threonine-protein kinase). Down-regulation of SIT1 promotes T-cell receptor-mediated AKT (RAC-α serine/threonine-protein kinase) activation and causes inactivation of FOXO1 (Forkhead box protein O1), a transcription factor that inhibits cell cycle progression and regulates T-cell homeostasis. SIT1 is involved in positive selection of T-cells. It regulates the signals required for thymic selection and peripheral T-cell activation. |
