Definition | Lubricating oils (petroleum), C>25, hydrotreated bright stock-based is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by treating solvent deasphalted residual oil with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst in two stages with dewaxing carried out between stages. It consists predominantly of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly greater than C25 and produces a finished oil with a viscosity of approximately 440cSt at 40.degree.C (104.degree.F). It contains a relatively large proportion of saturated hydrocarbons. |
