Definition | Raffinates (petroleum), sorption process is a complex combination of hydrocarbons remaining after removal of normal paraffins in a selective adsorption process. It consists predominantly of branched chain and cyclic hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C5 through C25 and boiling in the range of approximately 35.degree.C to 400.degree.C (95.degree.F to 752.degree.F). |
