1,1'-Carbonyldiimidazole (CDI) is an organic compound with the molecular formula (C3H3N2)2CO. It is a white crystalline solid. It is often used for the coupling of amino acids for peptide synthesis and as a reagent in organic synthesis.N,N '-carbonyl diimidazole (CDI) is a derivative of imidazole that has a closed large P bond in its imidazole structure and a lone pair of electrons in the unbonded sp2 orbital of one of the nitrogen atoms. These determine that CDI has a strong chemical chemical reaction activity, alcohol, acid and other functional groups to synthesize many compounds that are difficult to get by general chemical methods. Widely used as enzyme and protein binder, antibiotic synthesis drug intermediates, especially as a binding agent for the synthesis of polypeptide compounds.

Application

As an activator, CDI is fast and simple, so it is widely used in organic synthesis, and there are many reports in biochemical and pharmaceutical fields. If CDI is used as activator, amphiphilic urea oligomers with good antibacterial Chemicalbook properties can be quickly synthesized. Hydroxyquinine derivatives with amide structure can be synthesized and self-assembled under solid phase conditions. Heterocyclic organic compounds with urea structure can be prepared by cyclization of monomer itself.
