D-Tartaric Acid

 Appearance: Three stereoisomers: dextro-tartaric acid, levotartaric acid and racemic tartaric acid. A mixture of equal amounts of dextrorotate and levorotate has counteracting cyclotropic properties and is called racemic tartaric acid. Endocyclones are not found in nature and can be chemically synthesized. All tartaric acids are colourless crystals that are soluble in water.

Application: Used as pharmaceutical splitting agent, food additive, biochemical reagent, etc. Widely used in food industry, such as beer foaming agent, food souring agent, taste enhancer, used in cool drinks, candy, fruit juice, sauce, cold dishes, baking powder and so on. This product conforms to the Japanese Food Additives Protocol.

Used as a reagent for chromatographic analysis and as a masking agent

It is widely used as an acidifier in beverages and other foodstuffs, a use similar to that of citric acid. In combination with tannin, it is used as a mordant for acid dyes and for some development and fixation operations in the photographic industry, where its iron salts are photosensitive and can therefore be used to produce blueprints. Can be complexed with a variety of metal ions, can be used as a metal surface cleaning agent and polishing agent. Sodium potassium tartrate (Rochelle salt) can be formulated to reagents, can also be used in medicine as a laxative and diuretic, but also used as an intermediate of simcofin. Its crystals have piezoelectric properties and can be used in the electronics industry.
