The Tropinone alkaloids inhibit acetylcholine receptors in the brain and parasympathetic nervous system, producing a classic toxidrome of flushed, dry skin, lowgrade fever, tachycardia, mydriasis, ileus, urinary retention, agitation, vertigo, and dysphoria; later progressing to aggression, confusion, dysarthria, hallucinations, and, potentially fatal coma.
