  Calcium carbonate is also known as limestone, stone powder, is a common chemical substance on the earth, belongs to inorganic salt minerals, is alkaline, insoluble in water, easy to dissolve in acid, naturally exists in aragonite, calcite, chalk, limestone, marble, limestone and other rocks, limestone rock insoluble calcium carbonate and dissolved carbon dioxide water can be converted into calcium bicarbonate. Calcium carbonate can also be precipitated from water dissolved with calcium bicarbonate, which is the reason for the formation of karst caves.

Application:

(1)Tires: lightweight calcium carbonate and nano-calcium carbonate are often used to partially replace low-structure carbon black and white carbon black for power car tire outer rubber (the amount of more than 70 parts) and inner tube rubber, automotive tire body cord rubber, airtight layer rubber, lining layer rubber and inner tube rubber to reduce production costs. In addition, replacing ordinary zinc oxide with nano calcium carbonate can improve the tensile strength, elongation at break, flexural resistance and fatigue resistance of tread rubber for car tires. 

(2) Rubber hose and tape: light calcium carbonate and nano-calcium carbonate are used for rubber hose and tape, one is to play the role of white reinforcing filler, and the other is to improve the dispersion of the rubber material. Calcium carbonate can be used in the hose for ordinary hose, color hose, hydraulic hose and short fiber reinforcement hose, etc., in the belt can be used for conveyor belt, transmission belt and synchronization belt. 

(3) Rubber shoes: calcium carbonate can adapt to different color requirements, can improve the mixing and extrusion performance of rubber, widely used in rubber shoes, often with carbon black, carbon black, titanium dioxide and clay and used in rubber shoes, soles and heels and other parts.

(4) Wire and cable: calcium carbonate is generally used with carbon black, white carbon black, clay and talc powder, etc., and is used as a reinforcing filler for mining wire and cable, Marine wire and cable, high-voltage wire and cable sheathing and electrical wire and cable adhesive. In the chlorine-containing rubber, such as CR, chlorinated polyethylene rubber (CM) and chlorinated butadiene rubber as the main material of wire and cable adhesive, calcium carbonate in addition to the role of reinforcing filler, but also to reduce the acidity of the rubber and absorb the hydrogen chloride produced during the processing of the rubber, so as to avoid the vulcanization delay and return phenomenon of the rubber, while improving the extrusion performance of the rubber.
