sophorolipid (SL) is a microbial secondary metabolite produced by Candida saccharomyces with sugar and vegetable oil as carbon source under certain conditions. Sophorolipid is a kind of glycolipid biosurfactant. It has the general properties of solubilizing, emulsifying, wetting, foaming, dispersing, reducing surface tension and so on that conventional surfactants have, but also non-toxic, 100% biodegradable, temperature resistance, high salt resistance, wide PH range and environmental friendly characteristics. Sophora sugar can be used in petroleum, environmental protection, medicine, food, cosmetics, washing, home care, agriculture, feed and other fields.
