N-Methyl-4-nitroaniline NEW

Production method

It was prepared with p-nitroacetanilide, iodomethane and ethanol as raw materials. 

Acetone, p-nitroacetanilide and potassium hydroxide were mixed and heated for reflux,

 and acetone solution with iodomethane was dropped, and then reflux continued for 4h

. Leave overnight, recover acetone and crystallize, wash cold to remove alkaline, wash with 

ethanol to obtain N-methyl p-nitroacetanilide. Then it was mixed with ethanol and hydrochloric acid

, heated for reflux for 8h, recovered ethyl acetate and ethanol, and then diluted in water, washed 

away the acidity, and dried to obtain crude products. The crude product is dissolved with acetone

, filtered, recovered and crystallized as a finished product.
