General： Prampexol Dihydrochloride is a dopamine receptor agonist, a novel chemical dopamine agonist used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease. It has antioxidant activity and neuroprotective effects on dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra in models of hypoxia ischemia.By binding to dopamine receptors in the brain, simulating the function of dopamine, alleviating motor disorders in Parkinson's patients, and improving the symptoms of Parkinson's disease, it can be applied in the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

Function： Prampexol Dihydrochloride acts on the D2 subfamily of dopamine receptors with high selectivity and specificity, especially with a preferential affinity for D3 receptors and complete intrinsic activity. By acting on dopamine receptors in the striatum, it inhibits the synthesis, release, and renewal of dopamine, protecting dopamine neurons from the effects of ischemia neurotoxicity， as  as well as the neurotoxicity caused by levodopa.
