Revefenacin NEW

Pharmacological action

Revefenacin is a novel, non-selective, long-acting anticholinergic agent with a unique structure. It works by blocking the M3 receptors in the smooth muscles of the respiratory tract. This blockade prevents acetylcholine-induced bronchoconstriction, resulting in bronchodilation.

Indication

In November 2018, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted approval for the use of revefenacin inhalation solution in the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
