Scopoliatangutica is a perennial herb of the nightshade family, one of the most commonly used Tibetan medicine varieties in China. Scopolin belongs to coumarins, which have the effects of anti-fungus and inhibiting tree decay, as well as the activities of inhibiting monoamine oxidase, anti-inflammation, dispelling wind, relieving pain, expelling phlegm and relieving spasmodic, anti-tumor, etc.

Scopolin, a coumarin isolated from Arabidopsisthaliana(Arabidopsis), alleviates hepatic steatosis by activating a SIRT1-mediated signaling cascade that is a potent regulator of lipid homeostasis.
