First Aid Measures | Back to Contents | 【Ingestion】
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If the victim is conscious and not convulsing, give 1 or 2 glasses of water to dilute the chemical and IMMEDIATELY call a hospital or poison control center. Be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital if advised by a physician. If the victim is convulsing or unconscious, do not give anything by mouth, ensure that the victim's airway is open and lay the victim on his/her side with the head lower than the body. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. IMMEDIATELY transport the victim to a hospital. | 【Inhalation】
IMMEDIATELY leave the contaminated area; take deep breaths of fresh air. IMMEDIATELY call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital even if no symptoms (such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, or burning in the mouth, throat, or chest) develop. Provide proper respiratory protection to rescuers entering an unknown atmosphere. Whenever possible, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) should be used. | 【Skin】
IMMEDIATELY flood affected skin with water while removing and isolating all contaminated clothing. Gently wash all affected skin areas thoroughly with soap and water. If symptoms such as redness or irritation develop, IMMEDIATELY call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital for treatment. | 【Eyes】
First check the victim for contact lenses and remove if present. Flush victim's eyes with water or normal saline solution for 20 to 30 minutes while simultaneously calling a hospital or poison control center. Do not put any ointments, oils, or medication in the victim's eyes without specific instructions from a physician. IMMEDIATELY transport the victim after flushing eyes to a hospital even if no symptoms (such as redness or irritation) develop. |
Handling and Storage | Back to Contents | 【Storage】
Keep in a cool, dry, dark location in a tightly sealed container or cylinder. Keep away from incompatible materials, ignition sources and untrained individuals. Secure and label area. Protect containers/cylinders from physical damage. | 【Handling】
All chemicals should be considered hazardous. Avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood. |
Hazards Identification | Back to Contents | 【Inhalation】
Symptoms of exposure to this material include weakness, muscle twitching, stupor, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea and anorexia. Central nervous system effects and myotonia can also occur. It is irritating to skin, eyes, mucous membranes and the upper respiratory tract. | 【Skin】

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection | Back to Contents | 【Personal Protection】
Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any reasonable probability of skin contact. Wear eye protection to prevent any possibility of eye contact. | 【Respirators】
Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). | 【Exposure Effects】
Low dose exposures - vertigo, headache, malaise, and paresthesias may occur depending on the specific compound involved. High dose exposures - muscle twitching, spasms, profound weakness, polyneuritis, and unconsciousness may occur depending on the specific compound involved. Idiosyncratic reactions - peripheral neuropathies 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T have caused adverse reproductive effects in experimental animals. Allegations of human birth defects due to these compounds have not been confirmed. | 【Poison Class】

Fire Fighting Measures | Back to Contents | 【Fire Fighting】
Extinguish fire using agent suitable for type of surrounding fire. (Material itself does not burn or burns with difficulty.) | 【Fire Potential】
This material is probably combustible. |
Accidental Release Measures | Back to Contents | 【Small spills/leaks】
Keep material out of water sources and sewers. Build dikes to contain flow as necessary. Land spill: Dig a pit, pond, lagoon, holding area to contain liquid or solid material. Cover solids with a plastic sheet to prevent dissolving in rain or fire fighting water. Water spill: Use natural deep water pockets, excavated lagoons, or sand bag barriers to trap material at bottom. If dissolved, in region of 10 ppm or greater concentration, apply activated carbon at ten times the spilled amount. Remove trapped material with suction hoses. Use mechanical dredges or lifts to remove immobilized masses of pollutants and precipitates. |
Stability and Reactivity | Back to Contents | 【Incompatibilities】
Incompatible with strong oxidizers.Strong oxidizing acids may cause a vigorous reaction that is sufficiently exothermic to ignite the reaction products. | 【Stability】
No data. | 【Combustion Products】
Fire may produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases. |
