Packaging:     Oxidized LDL is membrane filtered and aseptically packaged in a solution
containing phosphate-buffered saline at pH7.4 and ＜1 µM EDTA-Na2
 
Preparation:    Human LDL (which was purified to homogeneity via Ultracentrifugation
(1.019-1.063g/cc))is oxidized using 5µM Cu2SO4 (oxidant) in PBS at 37℃
for 20 hours. Oxidation is terminated by adding excess EDTA- Na2. Each lot
is analyzed gel electrophoresis for migration versus LDL. This lot of
OX-LDL migrates 2.0fold further than the native LDL. This type Oxidized LDL
is widely used to investigate lipid metabolism, but not induce cell apoptosis.

TBARS:       TBARS is determined colorimetrically by using Malondialdehyde as a standard. Starting LDL   0.18 nmoles of MDA/mg Protein

Storage&
Stability:     This product is stable for 8 weeks after receipt when handled aseptically and
             stored at 2-8℃. NEVER FREEZE
*Special Note After prolonged storage, some precipitate may be observed. This is normal for
             This product. Clarify out the aggregates by spinning in a microfuge for 2 minutes.
 
Biological      Sample lots of Oxidized LDL are evaluated for receptor binding to
Activity:        peritoneal macrophages in conjunction with our Di-lOx-LDL and [I-125]Ox-LDL
