透明质酸酶PH-20也称为精子粘附分子1(SPAM1)和精子表面蛋白PH-20,属于糖基水解酶56家族,SPAM1/PH-20在睾丸中表达。透明质酸中N-乙酰基-β-D-葡糖胺和D-葡萄糖醛酸残基之间(1->4)键的SPAM-1/PH20随机水解。SPAM-1/PH20参与精卵粘附。受精后,精子必须首先穿透卵子周围的一层卵丘细胞,然后才能到达透明带。卵丘细胞包埋在排卵前形成的含有透明质酸的基质中。SPAM1通过消化透明质酸帮助穿透卵丘细胞层。
