酸碱指示剂，变色范围pH:6.8（黄）-8.4（红）。血液二氧化碳全量测定，细菌血清检验中制备双糖铁尿素培养基的指示剂。其钠盐用于测定肝功能。

1g of this product is soluble in 1300ml of water, approximately 350ml of alcohol, 500ml of acetone, almost insoluble in ether and chloroform, soluble in hydroxide or carbonate alkali solutions, showing a deep red color, stable in air.
Acid-base indicator, color change range pH: 6.8 (yellow) -8.4 (red). Indicator for the preparation of disaccharide iron urea culture medium for the determination of total blood carbon dioxide and bacterial serum testing. Its sodium salt is used to measure liver function.
