Dermcin-1L (human) is an antibiotic peptide secreted by sweat glands, consisting of 48 amino acids. It is transported by sweat to the surface of the skin and undergoes enzymatic hydrolysis to produce Dermcidin. Dermcin-1L (human) has antibacterial activity and can kill Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, and Candida albicans. Dermcin-1L (human) can be used for research on inflammatory skin diseases.
