Steps:

4.1.2 General procedure for the synthesis of tetraaryl-substituted benzenes 4a-f and 6a-f
General procedure: An oven-dried and argon-flushed pressure tube was charged with 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene or 1,2,3,5-tetrachlorobenzene (0.25 mmol), Pd2(dba)3 (1.25 mol%), cataCXium A (5.0 mol%), boronic acid (1.75 mmol) and K3PO4 (1.9 mmol) followed by anhydrous toluene (4.0 mL). The tube was sealed with a Teflon valve and the reaction mixture was stirred at 110 °C for 24 h. The cooled reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted with DCM. The combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography.
