General procedure: Fluorobenzenes (3eq, 30 mmol), amines (1 eq, 10 mmol), K2CO3 (2 eq) and NMP (15 mL) were charged to a 20 mL microwave vial equipped with a magnetic stir bar. The vial was capped and heated in the Biotage Initiator microwave reactor (with following setting: prestir = 20 s; absorption level = very high; fixed hold time = on) for 1-6 h at 190-250 °C as indicated. After cooling to 50 °C, the vial was opened and the contents were transferred to a separatory funnel containing water (60 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (15 mL × 4). The combined organic extracts were washed with water, and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4. After removal of the solvent, the residues were purified by the column chromatography on silica gel to give the pure product.
