In a 500-mL reaction vessel, 8.6 g of 2,3-butanedione, 12.08 g of sodium bromate, and 100 ml of chloroform were slowly added at 25°C.Hydrogen bromide solution 81g (40wt%) was added dropwise. The addition was complete for 2.5 h, slowly warmed to 35°C, and stirred at this temperature for 5h.After standing, GC monitoring, the reaction was complete after 7h, liquid separation, desolvation of organic phase, vacuum distillation of 81°C/5mm fractions to obtain product 1,4-dibromo-2,3-butanedione (yield 90%) ).
