Steps:

47.1 Step 1) 1-bromo-3- (2-methoxyethoxy) benzene[1488]

A mixture of cesium carbonate (4.51 g, 14.45 mmol) , potassium iodide (560 mg, 2.89 mmol) , 3-bromophenol (1.01 g, 7.73 mmol) and 1-bromo-2-methoxyethane (1.21 g, 8.67 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) was stirred at 70 for 12 h and diluted with water (50 mL) , and then extracted with EtOAc (50 mL × 3) . The combined organic layers were concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography eluted with PE/EtOAc (v/v) 5/1 to give a white solid product (1.08 g, 80.7) .[1489]MS (ESI, pos. ion) m/z: 231.1 [M+1]+
