Steps:

Put 3.2 g of 3-propyl n-heptanol with the structural formula (3a) in a three-necked flask, cool to -10 to -15°C, start to add 5.4 g of phosphorus tribromide dropwise, and keep it warm for 4 hours.Spontaneously heat up, react for 2 hours, heat up to 100 °C, react for 1 hour, and stop heating. Reduce to room temperature, add 20ml water and 10ml saturated sodium carbonate solution, stir for 20 minutes,Then add 20mlx3 methyl tert-butyl ether for extraction, combine the organic phases, wash with 20ml of saturated brine, dry with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrate to obtain 4.2g of oily liquid.That is, 3-propyl n-bromoheptane of structural formula (2a) (corresponding to R2 in structural formula (2) is propyl).
