1-METHYLPIPERIDIN-4-ONE OXIME synthesis

with hydroxylamine in ethanolReflux;

Steps:

1 Step 1
To a solution of 1 -methylpiperidin-4-one (XCII) (5.066 g, 44.77 mmol, 1 eq) in EtOH (45 mL) was added NH₂OH (3.422 g, 49.25 mmol, 1.1 eq). The reaction was stirred at reflux overnight. The solvent was evaporated under vacuum and the residue was dissolved in 7N N in MeOH (20 mL). The solvent was again evaporated under vacuum and the residue was washed with CHCE. The solid was filtered and dried to produce 1 -methylpiperidin-4-one oxime (XCIII) as a white solid (5.17 g, 40.33 mmol, 90.1%). ESIMS found C₆Hi₂N₂0 mz 129.0 (M+H).
