[01003] 1-(4-Bromophenyl)-4-isopropylpiperazine (4.3 g, 15.19 mmol) was dissolved in degassed toluene (43 mL). To this, potassium acetate (5.88 g, 60 mmol), bis(pinacolato)diboron (6.5 g, 25.67 mmol) and Pd(dppf)CI2.DCM complex (1.22 g, 1.44 mmol) were added under nitrogen atmosphere and the reaction mass was stirred at 110 °C for 4 h. The volatiles were removed under reduced pressure to give crude product (4.2 g) as a black solid which was used as such in next step without further purification. LCMS: [M+H] + = 331.46.
