To a solution containing compound 6-1 (1.16 g, 3.43 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) was treated with an aqueous solution of lithium hydroxide monohydrate (180.1 mg, 4.22 mmol) in water (7 mL). The mixture was stirred at 25°C for 2 h, and then it was acidified with a 2N aqueous hydrochloric acid solution. The mixture was extracted with dichloromethane (2×20 mL). The combined organic layer was dried with magnesium sulfate and concentrated to obtain pure product 7-1 (1.07g, 96%):
