Example 002 Step 3: Preparation of 6-nitropyrrolo[l,2-f][l ,2,4]triazine- 2,4(lH,3H)-dione To a mixture of l-amino-4-nitro-lH-pyrrole-2-carboxamide (6.0 g,35.3 mmol) and pyridine (3.10 mL, 38.4 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane was added slowly ethyl chloroformate (3.67 mL, 38.4 mmol). The mixture was heated at reflux for 1 h, and then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was melted and heated at 155 °C overnight. After cooling, the solid was triturated with MeOH to give 6- nitropyrrolo[l ,2-f][l ,2,4]triazine-2,4(lH,3H)-dione (5.0 g, 72%).
