4.2 Step 2: Preparation of 4- (4-nitrophenyl) -1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine hydrochloride (Int-4-c)

To compound (Int-4-b) (360 mg, 1.18 mmol) was added a 4N solution of hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (3 mL, 11.8 mmol), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour.The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound (285 mg, yield: 100%) in this step.
