To a solution of intermediate 59 (1.1 g, 10 mmol) in THF (50 mL) was added Et3N (3.0 g, 30 mmol) and (Boc)2O (2.6 g, 12 mmol). The mixture was stirred at rt overnight. The reaction was quenched with water (20 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (2×30 mL). The combined organic layer was washed with brine (20 mL), dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under vacuum to give crude product, which was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (petroleum ether: ethyl acetate; 100:1 to 20:1) to afford pure intermediate 60 (500 mg).
