Steps:

Representative procedure forthe synthesis of pyrazole 5

1a (227 mg, 1.0 mmol) and 4a (175 mg,1.0 mmol) were dissolved in 3 mL of DME. LiOH (48 mg, 2.0 mmol) was added to the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 10 h. HPLC indicated completion of reaction. Water (6 mL)was added to the reaction mixture, the reaction mixture was then stirred overnight. Pyrazole 5a (278 mg, 95% yield) was then filtered and dried. When pyrazole product is oil, the reaction mixture was concentrated and column chromatography using heptane and ethyl acetate gave the desired product.
