PREPARATION EXAMPLE 3 2-Aminomethyl-4-(p-chlorobenzyl)morpholine STR16 a) 2-(p-Chlorobenzylamino)ethanol STR17 To a solution of 2-aminoethanol (62.30 g, 1.02 mol) in methanol (100 ml) was added p-chlorobenzyl chloride (32.85 g, 0.204 mol) and then sodium hydroxide (8.98 g, 0.224 mol) and the mixture was heated under reflux for 3 hours. After the methanol and 2-aminoethanol were distilled off under reduced pressure, the residue was extracted with chloroform and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The chloroform was distilled off to give 35.54 g of the title compound as an oily substance. Yield=94%. ¹ H-NMR(CDCl₃)δ1.30-2.00(bs,2H), 2.80(t,J=5 Hz,2H), 3.66(t,J=5 Hz,2H), 3.78(s,2H), 7.20-7.35(m,4H)
