step C3 - LiAlH4 (170 mL, 0.17 mol, IM in Et2O) was added dropwise to a solution of 34 (14 g, 56.614 mmol) in THF (100 mL) at RT. The resulting mixture was stirred at 70 C overnight then cooled to 0 C and quenched with H2O (1.25 mL), 10% NaOH (1.25 mL) and H2O (3.7 mL). The resulting precipitate was filtered and rinsed with EtOAc and the filtrate was evaporated to afford 8.46 g (78%) of 36a.
