General procedure: 2-Anilino nicotino ethylesters (8a-g, 1 mmol) were refluxed with 2 N NaOH in ethanol for 2 h. The reaction mixture was cooled and left acidified with 2 N HCl to obtain white solid, filtered and washed with water to give pure compounds (9a-g).
