Synthesis of 2,6-bis(1-imidazolyl)methylpyridine: Imidazole (255.7 mg, 3.76 mmol) was weighed into a 25 mL flask, and 10 mL of toluene was added.Potassium carbonate (1.56 g, 11.28 mmol) and tetrabutylammonium bromide (41.7 mg, 0.13 mmol) were weighed into a 10 mL flask, and 5 mL of water was added.The aqueous solution was added to the toluene solution, and 2,6-dibromomethylpyridine (500 mg, 1.88 mmol) was added with stirring.Then stir at room temperature for 8 hours.A solid precipitated and the solid was filtered and dried to give compound 1 (368.2mg, 82%).
