Stage #1: 2-bromo-4-methoxybenzoic acidwith thionyl chloride at 60; for 6 h;
Stage #2: with ammonium hydroxide at 0 - 20;

1.1 General procedure for preparing 2

General procedure: A mixture of corresponding o-bromobenzoic acids and SOCl₂ was stirred at 60 °C for 6 h. The mixture was subsequently evaporated and then it was added dropwise to the NH₄OH at an ice bath. After dropping, the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The mixture was filtered and the residue was dried under vacuum to afford the title compounds. 2-bromo-4-fluorobenzamide (2a) White solid; yield 89%;
