Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1:2-Bromoacetyl bromide with triethylamine in dichloromethane at -78; for 0.333333 h;
Stage #2:dibutylamine in dichloromethane at -78;

A solution of 1.99 g (10 mmol) of bromoacetate bromide in 20 mL of CH2C12 was cooled down to-78 °C and TEA (1.21 g, 12 mmol) was added dropwise. The reaction mixture stirred for 20 min before dibutyl amine (1.54 g, 12 mmol) was added dropwise. After reaction completed and the mixture was washed with IN HC1, H2O, brine, dried over MGS04, and concentrated I72 vacuo to yield a brown oil. The material was used without any further purification. H NMR (CDC13) 8 : 0.95 (6H, m), 1.35 (4H, m), 1.55 (4H, m), 3.30 (4H, m), 3.85 (2H, s).
