Steps:
Compound 2 (171 g, 1.0365 mol) was dissolved in aqueous NaOH (84.5 g, 1.3620 mol, 4 l). As soon as the solution was clear, it was acidified with acetic acid until precipitation of awhite solid ceased. The product was collected by centrifugation and dried in a lyophilizer to give 3 (yield 48.61 g, 32%). 1HNMR (DMSO-d6): 8.8 (s, 2H), 11.45 (s, 1H), 11.7 (s, 1H).
