Reaction Conditions:

with triethylamine in dichloromethane at 20;Inert atmosphere;

Steps:

2-chloro-N-(4-(4-chlorophenoxy)phenyl)acetamide(1b)

General procedure: In a dichloromethanesolution (2-3 mL) of chloroacetylchloride (1.1 eq), adichloromethane solution (8-10 mL) of the appropriate amine (1 eq) andtriethylamine (1.1 eq) was added dropwise and the reaction mixture was stirredovernight at room temperature under a nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixturewas evaporated and the residue was extracted with ethyl acetate-brine. Theorganic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and upon rotary evaporationgave the desired product, which was pure in most cases (by TLC). In certaincases, chromatography was applied for further purification
