Preparation 2: 2-Chloro-N-hydroxyisonicotinamidine A solution of sodium carbonate (382mg, 3. 61mmol) and ammonium hydroxide hydrochloride salt (502mg, 7. 22mmol) in water (10ml) was added to 2-chloro-4-cyanopyridine (l. Og, 7. 22mmol) and the mixture heated to 80°C. Sufficient ethanol (10ml) was then added to give a homogeneous solution. After 18h, the solution was cooled and the ethanol removed in vacuo. The solid precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with ethanol and CH2Cl2then dried, affording the title compound: RT = 0.86min ; mlz (ES+) = 172.1 [M+H] +.
