In a 1 L dry reactor equipped with a dry ice condensate reflux, anhydrous lithium chloride (42 g) and anhydrous diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (500 mL) were added and placed in an ice-water bath with slow pass Hexafluoropropylene oxide (166 g) was added and kept in an ice-water bath for 2 h until there was no reflux at the bottom of the dry ice condenser and stirring was continued for two hours. The liquid was separated by a separatory funnel and distilled under atmospheric pressure. The gas generated during the distillation was collected in a cold trap and transferred to a cylinder to obtain liquid? -chloro-substituted tetrafluoropropionyl fluoride (247 g) in a yield of 90%. The collected primary products were subjected to gas chromatography, in which the content of β-chlorotetrafluoropropionyl fluoride was above 99%.
