d) 2-Cyclopentylphenethylamine; A solution of 2-cyclopentyl phenyl acetic acid amide (1. 28g, 6.3 mmol) in THF (10 mL) was treated with 1 N BH3 (25 mL) (in THF) and the solution was refluxed for 8h. The reaction was cooled, 6 N HCI (20 mL) was added, and the mixture was refluxed for 2h. The mixture was cooled, diluted with H20, and washed with Et20. The aqueous layer was basified and extracted with Et20. The extracts were washed with water, dried, and concentrated to give the titled compound (0. 44g, 35%). MS (ESI) 190 (M+H+).
