2-hydroxy-1-(hydroxymethyl)ethyl laurate synthesis

13synthesis methods
-

Yield:1678-45-1 84%

Reaction Conditions:

with Rhizomucor miehei lipase;ethanol at 20; for 24 h;Enzymatic reaction;regiospecific reaction;

Steps:

4.5. 1,3-Dihydroxypropan-2-yl dodecanoate (2b, utilizing R. miehei)

Lipozyme, immobilized from R. miehei (100 mg) was added to a solution of 2a (100 mg, 0.24 mmol) stirred in anhydrous EtOH (1 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred for 24 h, diluted with CH2Cl2 (3 mL), and the lipase was filtered off. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the resulting residue was chromatographed on silica gel (10-50% acetone/hexanes) to yield 2b (55 mg, 84%) as an oil. All spectral data was consistent with that obtained using the procedure with C. antarctica.
