4.1.2 1-(2-Hydroxyphenyl)ethanone O-acetyl oxime (2)
Oxime intermediate ( 1) (3.02 g, 20 mmol) was dissolved in acetic anhydride (6 mL) in a round-bottom flask at room temperature with gentle stirring. The flask became warm to the touch. Stirring was continued for 10 min, following which white precipitates separated out. Water (50 mL) was added to the flask, and the mixture was filtered to obtain white-colored solid residues. Rf = 0.60 (hexane - EtOAc, 5:1); Yield: 90%; mp 90-92 °C; 1H NMR (CDCl3, ppm) δ: 10.08 (s, 1H, OH), 7.54 (d, 1H, J = 8.00 Hz, Ar-H), 7.40-7.30 (m, 2H, Ar-H), 7.11 (d, 1H, J = 8.00 Hz, Ar-H), 2.77 (s, 3H, CH3), 2.20 (s, 3H, OCCH3); 13C NMR (CDCl3, ppm) δ: 169.5 (C=O), 165.2 (C), 155.4 (C), 132.6 (CH), 131.4 (CH), 120.9 (CH), 119.1 (C), 116.8 (CH), 18.3 (CH3), 14.5 (CH3); ESI-MS: 194.20(C10H11NO3 [M + H]+).
