Steps:

51 2-Methyl-4-morpholinoaniline.

A mixture of nitroaniline (1.30 g, 5.85 mmol) and Pd/C (100 mg) in EtOH (100 mL) and EtOAc (100 mL) was stirred under H2 (60 psi) for 4 h. The mixture was filtered through a pad of diatomaceous earth, washed with EtOH (50 mL) and the solvent evaporated to give the aniline (1.12 g, 99%) as a beige solid: mp 84-86 °C; 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 6.71 (d, J = 2.6 Hz, 1 H, H-3), 6.67 (dd, J = 8.4, 2.6 Hz, 1 H, H-5), 6.63 (d, J = 8.4 Hz, 1 H, H-6), 3.84 (br dd, J = 4.8, 4.7 Hz, 4 H, H-2, H-6), 3.38 (br s, 2 H, NH2), 3.34 (br dd, J = 4.8, 4.7 Hz, 4 H, H-3, H-5), 2.64 (s, 3 H, 3-CH3); MS m/z 223.1 (MH+, 100%).
