Steps:
I.2.16.7 2-[(Phenylmethoxy)imino]-acetic acid (2.33):
O-benzylhydroxylamine hydrochloride (1.6 g, 10.5 mmol, 1 equiv) and glyoxylic acid (0.92 g, 12.8 mmol, 1.2 equiv)) were dissolved in 100 ml diH20. The reaction was stirred at rt for 2 h. A white powder was obtained after filtration (1.8 g, quant, yield). Spectra data correspond to that reported.27 NMR (400 MHz, CDCI3): δ 7.54 (s, 1 H), 7.40-7.36 (m, 5 H), 5.31 (s, 2 H).
