A preparation method of 3,4,5-trichlorobenzaldehyde of the present invention, comprising the following steps: adding 183.94g (97%, 1.1mol) anhydrous ferric chloride and 851.94g 1,2 to a 2000mL four-necked flask -Dichloroethane, after mixing evenly, add 141.99g (99%, 1mol) p-chlorobenzaldehyde and 13.25g (99%, 0.05mol) triphenylphosphine, heat up to 65°C, feed 170.16g (2.4g) within 3h mol) chlorine gas, the reaction solution was cooled to 0 °C after the reaction was incubated for 0.5 h, 1 mol/L dilute hydrochloric acid was added dropwise to quench the reaction, and the layers were separated. (80wt% methanol-20wt% water) was recrystallized and dried to obtain 172.34g of white solid, namely 3,4,5-trichlorobenzaldehyde, with a content of 98.2% and a yield of 80.8%.
