3-((4-Bromophenoxy)methyl)oxetane synthesis

Steps:

3-((4-Bromophenoxy)methyl)-3-oxetane

A mixture of oxetan-3-yl methyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate (300 mg, 1.24 mmol), 4-bromphenol (236 mg, 1.36 mmol), Kl (88 mg, 0.43 mmol) and K₂C0₃ (342 mg, 2.48 mmol) in DMF (1.8 mL) is stirred at 130 °C for 1.5 h. The mixture is allowed to cool to rt, and is partitioned between EtOAc and water. The org. layer is washed with water (3x), dried over Na2S04, filtered, and the solvents are removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the crude by FC (Combiflash, 12 g silicagel, EtOAc / heptane 0: 100→ 30:70) yields the title product. LC-MS: t_R = 0.82 min (conditions 3).
