Reaction Conditions:

with platinum(0)-1,3-divinyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane complex in toluene at 40 - 60; for 16 h;

Steps:

Catalytic hydrosilylation

General procedure: The catalyst (10 lmol) and the allyl compound (31 mmol) were dissolved in 10 mL of dry toluene, and the reaction mixture was warmed to 40 C. At this temperature, the silane (62 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred for 16 h at 60 C, before it was allowed to cool to room temperature. The product selectivity was determined by 29Si NMR spectroscopy, integrating the signal of the desired product c against the byproduct d formed in parallel. The assignment of the signals in the 29Si NMR spectra, summarized in Table S1 (Supplementary material), was achieved by separate measurements of the single compounds.
