Steps:

24A 3-Iodo-6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine

2.180 g (purity 73%, approx. 11.82 mmol) of 6-methyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine and 3.987 g (17.72 mmol) of N-iodosuccinimide were dissolved in 30 ml of DMF and the mixture was heated at 80° C. for 2 h.
After cooling, the mixture was concentrated on a rotary evaporator and the residue was stirred with dichloromethane, filtered off with suction and dried under high vacuum. 7.950 g (38% purity, 100% of theory) of the target compound were obtained.
LC-MS (Method 1): R_t=0.52 min; MS (ESIpos): m/z=261 (M+H)⁺
