Steps:

1.4 4) Synthesis of m-iodobenzylguanidine sulfate (D)

539 mg (1.6 mmol) of (C) were weighed and suspended in 5 mL of water. 0.8 mL (1.6 mmol) of 2 mol / L sulfuric acid was added dropwise. Heating all the dissolved. Cooled to room temperature. A white solid precipitated. Filtration gave 515 mg. The solid was recrystallized from ethanol and water to give 472 mg, yield 91.2%.
